Research Hubs
The increasing demand for the highway infrastructure in Sarawak State post challenges to the practitioners, particularly to provide high quality, cost-effective and sustainable highway infrastructure. In response to these challenges, Curtin Highway Infrastructure Research & Innovation hub (CHIRI), initiated by the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Science, was established in 2018.
We aims to improve the constructability and sustainability of infrastructure through research and innovation. We perform research, development and training to improve the design, constructability, sustainability, and return on investment in highway and infrastructure construction.
To achieve our mission, we exchange ideas as well as explore opportunities to collaborate with government and industry partners to perform research and innovation. To maintain and further develop the professional qualities of academicians and practitioners, we collaborate with industrial partners to organize symposiums and conferences as well as providing training and development.
